The change factor : Making lemonade out of lemons

Updated: Nov 28, 2021

I think we can all agree that COVID-19 has given us some time to reflect about various aspects of life. Whether you work from home, you’ve been impacted by the unfortunate slashing of jobs or you’re a business owner struggling during these hard times... this particular thought must have crossed your mind.

“What industry, skill set and business channel would be of value in a post-COVID-19 economy?”

I believe that we all have the capacity to learn something new. We understand that change is relatively difficult for many, but if one was open to it. The results can be outstanding.

Picture a wall street high-roller stock broker in his custom-tailored suit in the middle of Manhattan Square. Or a suave marketing manager in her penthouse office overlooking the Burj Khalifa in Dubai. It is very difficult to see this stock broker as a produce farmer in the outskirts of New York, or the marketing manager downsizing to working from the basement of her home. The change is extreme, but then again the before and after picture of COVID-19 is as equally dramatic.

Given this level of change, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. For those willing to take on the challenge that is change – We have a living example of you!

The hospitality industry has been severely hit by the cascading impacts of the global pandemic. However, the glimmer of hope arises when one decides to make lemonade out of lemons!
